I sometimes need to transfer files between computers and tools like Dropbox, SkyDrive and Box are great for this. However, sometimes the files are sensitive and I’d prefer for the file to not be potentially visible if the service I use is ever hacked. Lately, I’ve been looking for something that would enable secure files in the cloud. I remembered Steve Gibson had previously discussed some of the cloud file storage services and made some recommendations. That led me to Boxcryptor, which makes pre-internet encryption very simple. The application is free, but there are advanced features available in the paid options.
